Radiology Manager
Job Summary:

The Radiology Manager ensures service operation, personnel management, resource allocation, and control in order to support and enhance patient care. Responsible for the services provided within the hospital by diagnostic radiology, CT scan and ultrasound. Perform functions of Radiology/CT Tech.

Essential Functions:

•Assumes responsibility for all daily operational needs department wide, including staffing levels, work flow, patient scheduling, and supporting the department in action.
•Develops, implements, and evaluates an ongoing service program that ensures quality patient programs consistent with the hospital’s mission.
•Monitors compliance with regulatory, accrediting, and hospital policy for patient services, personnel management, and environmental safety.
•Oversees a Quality Assurance Program that consistently monitors and evaluates critical aspects of care.
•Accurately identifies real/potential problems affecting the service and implements solutions with follow through and communication.
•Serves as a resource to nurse and department managers within and across service lines.
•Fosters a service that is consistent with the patient care beliefs and shared management philosophy of the hospital and clinics.
•Actively participates on service, departmental, and hospital wide committees as assigned, providing ongoing communication to those represented.
•Participates in departmental project management, assuming a leadership role as warranted, in order to equitably assume these responsibilities with peer directors.
•Effectively interprets/represents the practice and role of the hospital to allied healthcare professionals and physicians.
•Oversees other departmental technicians, providing feedback and a constructive critique of work. Facilitates the development of their problem solving and decision-making skills, and documents their job performance annually.
•Follows progressive disciplinary action process or oversees subordinates in doing so to maintain productivity and performance standards.
•Maintains a charging and billing system to ensure that correct charges are being made and distributed.
•Is responsible for the department’s operational excellence and ensures that the department delivers quality services in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and professional standards.
•Follows hospital exposure control plans/blood borne and airborne pathogens.
•Maintains confidentiality of all hospital and patient information at all times. Follows HIPAA regulations and policies.
•Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function.
•Communicate with patients, families and co-workers in person, in writing and on telephone.

Minimum Qualifications:

•Two to three years in a supervisory or management role preferred.
•Knowledge of human resources management, imaging department operation, fiscal management skills, and familiarity with regulatory and accrediting agency standards required.
•Current ARRT registration and state license is required.
