Health Information Manager
Job summary:

Leads the team in Health Information in meeting the performance of culture, operational and stable growth targets. Starts at chart created to account coded and helps support audits both internal and external. Includes scanning, medical records, coding and release of information.

Essential Job Functions:

•Demonstrated and leads by example excellent customer service and professionalism skills.
•Oversees daily operations for Medical Records and Coding.
•Develops and enforces policy and procedure.
•Facilitates daily huddles with staff.
•Participates in and monitors continuous improvement activities.
•Participates in coaching and education of staff.
•Responsible for monitoring staff performance, observations and training.
•Maintains and completes budget and provides Finance with any requested information or status updates.
•Prepares and enters staff schedules, approves and manages time off requests and approves staff time cards in software system.
•Other duties as assigned to support staff and manager.
•Maintains confidentiality of all hospital and patient information at all times. Follows HIPAA regulations and policies.
•Communicate with patients, physicians, families and co-workers in person and on telephone.
•Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function.

Minimum Qualifications:

•Associate’s Degree, preferred
•RHIT certification
•Knowledge of HIPAA required
•Experience with medical records within a healthcare setting preferred
•1 -3 years’ experience required

Full time, 40 hours per week
