Patient Access Clerk
Job Summary:

Provides general office support to Patient Access team and operations. Answers and directs all incoming calls to the appropriate departments or personnel. Supports collections by taking patient payments over the phone. Assists with appointment reminder calls. Supports clinical departments through completing daily chart prep and related activities. Performs other registration-related duties as assigned.

Essential Job Functions:

•Take incoming calls from main hospital line, and route to appropriate departments.
•Makes outgoing calls as assigned, including appointment reminder calls.
•Initiates pre-appointment mailing of required forms to patients
•Notifies Schegistrars and clinical personnel of appointment cancellations
•Provides excellent customer service and supports the Patient Experience
•Completes mandatory training
•Complies with all Clearwater Valley & St. Mary’s Health confidentiality and HIPAA standards
•A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required
•Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
•Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
•Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned
•Performs other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
•High school diploma or equivalent preferred
•1 year customer service preferred
•Excellent listening, keyboarding and organizational skills; strong communication skills including the ability to speak effectively to patients and customers.
•Exhibits competency in common computer office applications
•Previous medical office and/or call center experience preferred

Full time, 40 hours per week
