Cook/Food Service Worker
Basic Purpose of the Job
Cooks meals according to instructions given by Dietary Manager. Follows written menus, instructions, plans and coordinates, and cooperates to complete the daily special activities of the department. Follows principles of food safety and sanitation requirements.
Equivalent of four years of high school with completion of on the job training in principles of food cooking preferred.
Minimum two years of some formal on the job training in food preparation, cooking, and principles of sanitation and safety in a hospital or nursing home preferred but not required.
PRN, as needed
